MELVIN L. DUNN Melvin Dunn was born in Bella Coola, BC, February 14, 1962, and is a member
of the Nuxalk Nation. After moving to Vancouver in the early 1980's he enrolled in a two
year Fine Arts program at Langara Community College in 1987. Melvin transferred to Emily
Carr College of Art & Design in 1989. He received his diploma in 1992 with a major in
Studio. He presently is in his 6th year of employment as the house artist for a major
Inuit and Native Arts Gallery in Vancouver. Melvin's art work has primarily been in
Ceramic Sculpture, but he has also been working in stone carving in recent years.
