STEWART JACOBS

Stewart is a member of the Squamish First Nation in North Vancouver.
He first started to carve with Fred Baker and learned from the other old masters. He was very interested in pottery and tried to apply his talents to bowls, plates and vases.
In 1986, he formed the Free Spirit Pottery and has since concentrated on the ceramic art. Many galleries carry his pottery and he is well known for brilliant colors and unique designs. Aside of vases of all sizes, bowls, and plates, he also make lamps, using ceramics as a bottom.
Stewart is very involved in sports as well and loves to teach children in his community.
